Another month gone...and another tooth!

Happy Halloween! October has come and gone. And November is here. This year is almost over, can you believe it? Not I, Not I. We've had a fun filled month. Isaac has lost ANOTHER tooth! And yes, he lost this one AT SCHOOL, while eating lunch again. I'm not so disappointed this time. I'm just happy he didn't swallow it :o)

Isaac is doing fantastic in school, he just accepted a math and reading award at his very first Honor Assembly. He also participated in his first Red Ribbon week, which represents 'Just say No to Drugs'. The school had a dress in red day and whoever dressed in the most red won a prize. Well, guess what ~ Isaac won! He wore 6 red shirts, 2 red scarfs, red pants, red underwear, red socks, red shoes, basically ALOT of red! And he made a sign for the school parade.

Isaac was a dragon this year for Halloween. So cute...and so big. I don't realize how big he's gotten until I see these pictures. MacyJo was a fairy princess. And we had fun taking some pics of her in this costume. To say the least....it was quit a challenge. Isaac and I carved a huge pumpkin....the one he picked out at the pumpkin patch. Next year we'll be downsizing on pumpkins ;o)

MacyJo has found fun in destroying the toilet paper and messing up the towels in the towel cabinet. She's so mischievous these days...it's just a hoot watching her explore and learn.

Well, Kris and I are still staying busy with work, church and family. Nothing really new to tell. We are just so thankful for every blessing. We're looking forward to the upcoming holidays and colder weather. We love all of you, take care!

First time for everything

A couple of Sunday's ago, we were at church and Isaac came running up to me yelling, "Mommy, Mommy! Look! My tooth is loose, My tooth is loose!!" And was it loose... it was barely hanging on. I thought, Oh yay! ....we're going to get to see his tooth fall out today and the tooth fairy will be visiting tonight. But no, it didn't happen that way. He had to loose it at school the next day while eating his pb&j sandwich in the lunch room! I wasn't there and that made me sad ;o( But I was happy that his thoughtful teacher saved it for him and even presented him with a tooth award, how fun!! He was ecstatic when I picked him up at school that day, couldn't quit smiling and held on to his tooth & tooth award till bedtime. And then the tooth fairy came! And boy was he excited when he woke up the next morning with money under his pillow. This is such a cute little milestone. I just can't believe how much he's grown, it really does go by TOO fast. I remember when he first started brushing all those cute baby teeth. Here is a pic of his beautiful smile and missing tooth. SO adorable! I love him so much!!

And my sweet baby girl MacyJo was in her very first pageant yesterday.....and won! She is now the new 2008 Little Miss Sherwood, can you believe it!! This was so much fun. Macy really showed out and worked the stage when she was up. She got crowned Best Personality and Little Miss Infant QUEEN! She got a huge crown, trophy, flowers and sash. She was so cute! I love her so much too!!

What HAVEN"T we done in the last two months...?!

Well, where to start..?! The Knowlton's have been BUSY! School is underway...I had my very first parent-teacher conference and I am happy to report that Isaac is doing great! He is reading at second grade level and joined the accelerated readers program!! Isaac LOVES going to school and I LOVE that he LOVES school. I recently took the kiddos out to the old mill and got some great shots, it's beautiful out there!

He also started playing flag football, which I think is too funny. The kids are so lost at the concept of this game, and it is a hoot watching them play. I made a run-through banner for the team to run through before the game started...and well...this was hilarious. The kids couldn't actually run through it, they just ran around with it for about 5 minutes!

Isaac likes to hike the ball on every play.

Isaac also turned 6 years old this month! Kris and I, along with Papa, got Isaac a great playhouse/swing set that took 12 hours, 7 guys, 4 tons of rubber mulch and lots of sweat to put together!!

We also had a carnival birthday party at the house that was tons of fun. I made different booths for the kids to play... Granny was a fortune teller, Aunt Jennica painted faces, Kris took whip cream pies in the face (this was the kids' favorite!), Aunt Nene worked the guessing booth and Samantha helped with the peanut toss. We also had a cake walk (this was the runner-up favorite booth!) And not to mention...a cotton candy machine ~ YUMMY!The carnival birthday party was a success, but I'm SO glad it's over! Next up is MacyJo's 1 year birthday, and I'd better start planning now...that's the fun part! But for some reason it always seems to get way out of hand, lol ;o)

Kris and I also celebrated our 6 year anniversary. It seems like just yesterday that we met. We've been wanting to get baptized for the longest time now, and we finally did it this month! It was such a happy day. We were able to share our story with the church and it was a great way to give glory to God and honor Him. We're so very blessed and thankful for such an awesome God! So, that's what's new with the Knowlton's! We're looking forward to chillin' out this next month and enjoying the beautiful fall weather (my favorite time of year!) Until next time...

First day of Kindergarten!

WOW! What a morning. Isaac was off to his first day of school. I am so sad, but excited to hear all about his new adventure when he gets home today. Hopefully he was able to conquer all of the things I thought about on my way home from dropping him off...."did he get his lunchable open?", "will he have enough milk to drink?", "will he be able to unbuckle his belt to go potty?", "will he miss me as much as I miss him?"....probably not! He was so excited he could barley contain himself while going to bed last night and walking to the front doors of the school this morning. He practically ran to his classroom!
This is just the beginning of a wonderful journey for my little boy. It's hard to trust the wide wide world with my first born. Thank God for answering our prayers about Isaac being provided with such a wonderful kindergarten teacher, which makes leaving him a little bit easier. , She handed out a little poem regarding the fact that all the moms would be tearing eyed. So for all my fellow kindergarten moms...here are a few lines from the poem that helped to put my mind at ease.

~As you entered my room today, for I know how hard it is to leave, and know your child must stay. You've been with him for five years now, and have been a loving guide. But now, alas, the time has come to leave him at my side. Just know that as you drive away and tears down your cheeks may flow, I'll love him as I would my own and help him to learn and grow. For as a parent, I too know how quickly the years do pass, and one day long ago it was my turn to take my child to class~
God is good, and if it weren't for his gift of peace - I would be a mess right now. A few tears here and there and then I realize that I am filled with God's amazing love for me and my family. I am so thankful for such a sparkling young man. He is the light of my life. He has been such a great big brother to little Macy Jo. It seems like just yesterday he was the baby....how they grow entirely too fast! Thanks to all who sent out a prayer for me as my 5 year 'baby' went off to school this morning. Just a heads up that I'll need those prayers again next year, and the next, and the next .... and OH MY do I even want to think about college!! How will I ever let him go? I guess one baby step at a time. And with God's whisper in my ear saying, "for I know the plans I have for you, plans for good and not evil, to give you a future and a hope" ~Jeremiah 29:11

I'm sure I'll have lots to post as the weeks go by, for I know Isaac will be bringing home lots of stories and adventures that will be too funny to keep to ourselves. So until next time ...

Welcome to our site!

This year is flying by, isn't it?! Summer is almost to an end and school about to begin. Kris and I wanted to start this site to keep our friends and family updated with our crazy lives. As everyone knows, we've had a new addition to the family. Little MacyJo is seven months old now and just as beautiful as ever. She's sitting up, rolling over, ridin' momma's hip, laughin' at her daddy and lovin' her Bubba. Isaac will turn 6 in September, which is so hard to believe. I can barley wrap my mind around him starting public school this year. It's such a scary, yet exciting time. He is more than ready, and I'm more than NOT! My job is going good, still working those awful night shifts, but I'm hanging in there...say a prayer I'll get to day shift soon. I love working with my babies and momma's, it's very rewarding and I look forward to it every time I go to work. Kris is still the money man, he doesn't have any himself...lol, but can certainly help you open a checking account, apply for loans, credit cards, etc. The bank is good to him, and we are thankful. I hope everyone enjoys the blog. We will update monthly, maybe more if we're feeling froggy ;o). Here are some recent pics of us down at the river market watching ET...what a great movie!

How do you pray?

Kris & I recently had dinner with dear friends of ours who are missionaries in Indonesia. They are pictured with us here, and their names are James & Mona. It was refreshing to talk with such God centered folks that live for the King. I mean REALLY talk. And of course we ended the night with prayer, the longest prayer I've had in a while. Interesting enough, we didn't pray for our safety and security and all the warm and cozy things that most of us pray for daily. No, we prayed for God's will, whatever that may be...if it is His will that my car break down so that I can witness to the guy who helps me with the jump....then so be it, or if it is His will that I do get in that car accident that puts me into the hospital because the lady that I will be laying next to needs to hear the word....then so be it. Praying for Gods will is hard...and uncomfortable. But humbling. I now know of a whole different type of prayer. One that involves working for the kingdom, and not just for my pleasures and comforts. But I confess, I'm not very good at this yet. I mean, who wants to pray for something inconvenient to happen to them? Not me. However, it has to be me. It has to be me that says that prayer....because I'm here for Him.
